This effect was made for a feature film where a character needed to get his head nearly chopped off. It slowly falls backwards and dangles by a bit of flesh from the back of his neck. later the head falls off and lands on the ground when the body falls to it’s knees. The same melted face makeup was applied to the dummy head as the actor to as he gets scalded earlier in the scene.
