This make up was created for the music video “Doorway” by Vissia. Three encapsulated silicone appliances and blue body paint to invoke the feeling of a 1960’s sci-fi tv show like Star Trek. Watch the video below.

Calgary Makeup FX is an artist collective specializing in makeup and practical effects for film, performance, and live art. We combine hands-on craftsmanship with creative storytelling to build original, character-driven work while also supporting mentorship and skill-sharing within the FX community in Calgary. Our focus is creating opportunities for the professional development of our members in the art of special makeup effects and practical effects, whether that be in design, fabrication, or performance. We have collaborated on and completed web series, music videos, short films, and feature films, almost all self funded and all for the purpose of honing the skills of our members in their specific disciplines.
